They told us outright lies,
Didn't even bother with half-truths.
We were caught between the
Secrets hidden behind their eyes
And our own naïveté youth.
Love would never be enough.
This world would never be ours.
Our dreams they meant to snuff
So they could build their towers.
No one mentioned the sacrifices,
Or the blood we'd have to spill.
How were we to know the high price,
Or that it'd be ourselves we'd have to kill?
I think I'll never forgive men
For this world they created.
Never will come a time when
Their bloodlust will be placated.
